GLADIATOR

TRADITIONAL KIWI SPORT FISHER

Lengthened to 55’ early in life, Gladitor offers plenty of room, including a huge cockpit for catering to both fishing and entertaining. Built the traditional way from Kauri before being wrapped in fibreglass Gladiator appeals to those who appreciate a serious, proven fishing boat capable of getting clients to the fish and back in safety and comfort.

Some 19 years later, the original boat builders are actively involved with the maintenance and alterations,  and remarkably remember fondly “the beautiful pieces of timber she was built from”

Gladiator has spent nearly two decades in survey and has been continually upgraded to cope with the rigours of charter boat life.

SPECS & ONBOARD FACILITIES

At 16m in length and boasting a 5m beam she is well suited to New Zealand’s waters and has completed numerous South Pacific voyages with the most recent being the 2018 trip to Fiji and New Caledonia a voyage of 4500 nautical miles.

2015 saw the engines upgraded to new Cat C7 455hp diesels, and following many uncomfortable nights in far flung anchorages with little shelter, the decision was made to install a revolutionary “Seakeeper” Gyro Stabilizer. Still relatively uncommon but absolutely fantastic when the conditions are less than ideal.

The full suite of new electronics are by SIMRAD
